Geometric steering drilling was a steering drilling method of borehole trajectory control based on MWD measurement of borehole’s geometric parameters (dip angle of well, azimuth and angle of tool face). Orion uses professional steering tools and company developed data computation software and applied the same in the CBM, oil and gas development with successful results.
Before end of 2013, Orion has designed and organized for implementation more than 170 wells geometric-steering, did 5 casing window-opening, accomplished in total 13 platforms and 76 wells for cluster wells, accomplished > 150 time/well connectivity jobs and 100% connectivity ratio and >90% drilling trajectory control jobs were superior quality. Apart from geometric steering, Orion offers following geometric steering services in complex environment.
Super-shallow bed geometric steering:Orion offers special geometric steering services under super shallow conditions of TVD including super shallow coal layers, heavy oil bed which required 3D obstacle surround and other sophisticated geometric steering services.
Remote connectivity and casing window-opening:Orion offers special geometric steering services for big displacement condition or magnetic-involving condition in the concurrent utilization of RMS and Gyro, etc apart from utilizing MWD.
