The 3rd Generation horizontal well (multiple stage fracing U-shape horizontal well) was researched for application to deep coal bed methane development with high stress, unstable borehole and low permeability. In the 3G horizontal well, it connects the single branch borehole with dual wellbores at the remote end, it uses steel casing cementation without packer; it also deployed drilling engineering in different geological conditions, applied horizontal well fracing and smart pumping program to enhance production of low permeable reservoir (the 3.15G well – multiple stage fracing and multiple stage balsting U-shape horizontal well ), the 3.52 G horizontal well (multiple stage blasting and multiple stage caving U-shape horizontal well), with above effort, it has mobilized the resources and improved the production result.
Orion has accomplished a 3G horizontal well – the xx-5H well at Shizhuang Bei Block, Qinshui Basin in 2012. The performance after the commissioning was good and enhanced production trend was maintained.
Orion has organized the drilling of 3.51G horizontal well – the xxx 2H well in Hebi city, Henan province in December 2011. It was applied to the well with hydraulic recyclable whipstock casing window opening operations and side tracked 4 branches to the whole well and casings were run into all of them for completion operations, the operation was terminated inMarch2012.
Orion was in December 2011 organized construction for the 3.52G horizontal well drilling in Mengjin county, Henan province, which has effectively achieved open mine coal caving, pressure bleeding and elimination of emergency, this has explored a new way for resolving coal gas issues.
